This will be my first time using Airbnb so I'm a bit weary about listings being fake.
What can I do to make sure a listing is real and not a scam?
What should I be looking out for?
Thanks

Welcome to Airbnb!
Here are a few things you can do to make sure the listing is real:
(1) Look at the reviews and make sure they seem to talk about the same place you are booking
(2) If the listing says anything about contacting the host outside of Airbnb before booking, DO NOT - this is a well-known scam.
(3) Look at the listing - if it seems "too good to be true" (aka luxurious penthouse for a super low rate) it probably is!
You can also post the link here and we can weigh in on our thoughts.
@Lawrene0 Oh that’s a shame.
But the property can be searched for and found on the air bnb website.
here‘s another link via the actual website. The link before I copied from a shared link on WhatsApp:
What did you end up doing, @Jemma19 ? Thanks for making it clear it was a truncated URL.
If it is a real Airbnb listing that is asking you to go off the platform, I would not book with them. The bit about Airbnb sending you an invoice is worrying, because that's not how it works.
You could flag the listing. There is a flag beside "Report this listing" under the BOOK button.
Hi all, does this listing look legit? Sort of looks too good to be true, but we have limited options right now 😕 Thanks! -EM
hi guys can anyone tell me is this fake or not? Looks like in London too many apartments are without a single review: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/34992431?adults=2&toddlers=0&check_in=2019-05-30&check_out=2019-06-01...
I guess it should be fake because the pictures looks like couple of different appartments for example 3 different type of kitchen? WTF?
this is another one. To be honest for 54£ a night it's just too good to be true
what do you think?
If these are scams is it that common?
can you help me figure out if this is real or fake?

Could someone tell me if this listing real?.... He doesn't have any reviews just yet, I also don't know how "new" he is to Airbnb.
I found this apartment on Roomster however the host says he prefers to use airbnb. Do you think this place is too good to be true?

I saw this apartment on Roomster but the host said he prefers to book over Airbnb. We've been emailing back and forth about a long-term lease. Does this place seem too good to be true?

@Sinéad6 That is a fake Airbnb URL. Stop communicating with this person, do not send them any personal information, do not send money. This is a SCAM.
Hi guys,
I had a man contacting me through email and after a few emails he gave me this link to book. But I don't really trust it because I can't finf the appartment on airbnb.com if I begin the search on the home page.

If I could get your advise it would be awesome.
Kind regards,

I would like to know if this is legit
This is my first time doing Airbnb and I have already booked this room for a week but the number listed for the host is fake and also I can't get in contact with her at all. I've been messaging her for hours and I also sent an email and nothing and my reservation is for tomorrow. What do I do now???????
@Ruthalee0 Contact Airbnb ASAP and ask for their assistance. Did you actually book this through the official Airbnb site?
