Hello fellow Airbnb hosts and enthusiasts,
I am excited to introduce a unique hosting experience, and am seeking your wisdom and insights regarding the legal and procedural aspects of this venture. I have a Peugeot Boxer van that has been beautifully rebuilt to feature all essential amenities including a shower, bed, kitchen, and working space, offering a compact yet comfortable living solution.
Given the mobility of my offering, I am somewhat flexible regarding its location and am primarily considering hosting guests in various cities across the U.S. However, the complex legal landscape surrounding Airbnb hosting has prompted me to seek clarification on a few points.
1. Nature of the Space: The van is not static like traditional real estate. It is a dynamic space that can be moved from one location to another. Does this mobility present any legal or procedural challenges within the Airbnb framework?
2. Rental Duration Limitations: I am aware that many cities impose a cap on the number of days a space can be rented out on platforms like Airbnb. Given the mobility of my van, I could potentially move it to another city once the maximum rental duration is reached in one location. Would this practice comply with existing regulations?
3. City-Specific Permits: If the van isn't statically located in a specific city, would I still be required to obtain a permit in each city where I intend to host guests? How does the permit application process cater to mobile living spaces, if at all?
I am eager to ensure that my mobile Airbnb hosting aligns with all legal and community standards. Any insights, experiences, or resources that could shed light on these questions would be immensely appreciated.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Best Regards,
Max
