Hi @John7768!
Thanks for the tag @Paula!
You have great reviews and a nice space! I agree with the others that professional photos or at least photos taken with good lighting, wide angle (for some shots), sunny days or twilight may enhance your listing’s appeal. Here are a few suggestions:
1. pic 17 & 18 appear to be the same pic of the bathroom.
2. pic 23 and 24 are the same, keep 24, it doesn’t show the car on the street, has some grass in the foreground and shows the trees and yard well.
3. You may want to retake the pic of the bench and umbrella/grill on a sunny dry day. You want to out your best foot forward with pics and let people envision themselves here sunny, BBQing with family/friends. So pull the cover off the grill, open the umbrella, maybe have some colorful plates or napkins or iced tea drinks on the table when you take this pic.
4. You may want a pop of color with a colorful lounge chair in the pic of the yard and graveled area behind the house.
5. Maybe a twilight photo with the fire pit on would be a nice touch.
6. The purple bed spread while you may like it personally, is not a typical bed spread people may like. Neutrals, or lighter colors are better for bedding in the bedrooms.
7. Consider buying some decorative 26x26” pillows and covers (online has great prices) and have 4 regular pillows on the bed, in addition to the decorative larger pillows. People love pillows to prop themselves up to watch tv, lounge, sleep (some people use them as a knee support or body pillow). It also makes the bed more inviting.
8. Writing the actual destinations and distance and drive/bike/walk time is helpful for visitors who don’t know the area.
Nearest beach: x miles or x minute walk.
Nearest grocery store: x miles or x minute walk/drive.
Nearest restaurants (name the restaurant): x miles or x min walk or drive.
Nearest park: x miles or x min drive.
Other attraction: x miles or x min drive.
9. Consider including some pics of the beach at sunrise or sunset in your listing.
10. Some people will put flowers in their kitchen pic or have a picture of some nature scene on their TV in their pic listing (it looks nicer than a blank tv screen).
11. Do you have streaming services available? Offer coffee/tea complimentary? You can include this in your initial description. Look at other similar listings to yours to see how they present their listing in writing or photos (do a search as a guest in your area, or look in the app, insights, booking rate and scroll to the bottom to similar listings; you can also go to your calendar in the app and click on some dates to see booked and unbooked listings during that time frame to see how you are priced and your amenities versus your competitors amenities). See if they have amenities you can add to your listing or how you are different/unique from them.
Hope this helps some and tag me/message me directly if you have any questions about my suggestions.
wow, what a fantastic plethora of great ideas! I have already contacted a professional photographer, but we are waiting on last thing to arrive Thursday to be placed in the house.
Did go ahead and order a different bedding and lots of what I call throw pillows, per your suggestion!
Look forward to having everyone look, once new descriptions and professional photos are up!
Have a fantastic day and thank you again-
Yvette and John
You’re welcome! Personally I don’t put 4 normal pillows and 2 throw pillows on my bed as it’s a lot. But for decoration and presentation, it’s the norm for hotels and nicely staged photos for airbnbs and homes for sale.
Make sure your throw pillows have removable pillow cases so you can wash them. When I started I thought I didn’t have removable covers (the zipper was hidden so well) and was in a bind when someone got their makeup all over it. I was washing pillows as needed, spot treating them and spraying them with a disinfectant spray and putting them in the dryer between guests.
Let is know when the new photos are up. I’d be curious to see your stats before and after implementing the suggestions all of us have you.
Goos afternoon. I have uploaded the new professional photos and changed some wordings.

hi John,
Listing looks good and excellent reviews. My experience shows colors add unique accents to spaces so if you could use a touch of color to accent spaces, photos would look better. It's currently in a grey/dark tone. I would get some accent pillows and take brighter pictures or increase brightness. The picture of a bathroom showcasing just some handles may not be useful for guests so it can be removed.
I host on a boat and try to integrate as much vibrant accents as possible even though my space is tiny compared to your listing. I would also replace your profile picture to something more bright.
Hope this helps.
Rose.
@Rose422 Good morning and thank you for the wonderful suggestions! I do have lots of extra stuff coming this week, per suggestions received.
Am also having a professional photographer take both night and day photos. I did show bars in bathroom, because it was asked by a few guests.
Have an amazing day-
Yvette and John
Unfortunately when you are scrolling through photos on the listing, it doesn’t show the whole picture so that’s why your bath photo looks weird (same with my shower photo). People need to click on the photo to get the full length photo to see what you are trying to showcase. Having captions will also share what is important in the photos (we have a low lip shower for ease to get in and out of the shower). Many people who are looking for these feature appreciate the low lip shower for people who have issues with mobility.
