Tax information??

Is anyone else being bombarded with requests for additional tax information "or payments will be interrupted."??  I had reached out to Customer Support months ago and no response.  We are located in Canada, not sure what information AirBnB is requesting and why?  Help please!

Both you and your Co Host would have to provide your Social Insurance Number (SIN) for individuals or a Business Number (BN) if your listing is setup as a corporation. This is required for Airbnb to comply with the Know Your Customer regulations (KYC) and they can do mandatory withholding on your payouts as well if you don't supply the required information.

Go to Account Setting/Taxes, to add the required information.

Not bombarded no. I have been asked to provide my NI number to comply with my government's distance selling regulations @Dan25669

@Alex Hey Guys, thank you for the assistance and I have now provided what they require.  As you can imagine, having had my identity "stolen" in the past I am reluctant to hand out my social insurance number.

We certainly have @Dan25669 . I don't blame you for being concerned. This is not a transparent process. I was trying to figure out if there is any other option other than a social insurance number but can't seem to find anything.

You won't be bombarded with requests if you comply with the legislation and provide your NI number in the UK.

its a legal requirement for Airbnb to collect this under our Distance Selling Regulations  . 

when you say it's not transparent what concerns do you have??
