Text messages from Airbnb to me use wrong name

My text messages from Airbnb come to my iPhone. They show up with a name in bold face. But it’s the wrong name, not my name. Airbnb support tells me the problem is not on their end but are in my settings for my iPhone messaging. They say it is not in the Airbnb app, either. And the wrong name is not in my Airbnb profile. 

I have gone through my iPhone settings and can find no place where this fake name shows up. Also only text messages coming to me from airbnb have the problem. 

I am hoping a host with more tech abilities than I might have a suggestion. Any ideas?

Hi @Marcy51 

Can you post a screen shot of an example? (Don't include any sensitive info in the screen shot like guest name).

What model of iPhone are you using and what software version?

Can you try using someone else's phone (preferrably an Android) to see if the messages appear with the wrong name?

Hi @Marcy51 ! Double checking just to be sure, do you mean Airbnb App notifications or SMS text messages? 

Would you be able to share a few screenshots as Joan mentioned?

Thank you both! I have solved it. I had to save the bad name and the airbnb text number to my contacts. Then I was able to go into contacts and change the name to Airbnb! It worked.  It was as simple as that. Not sure how the generic Airbnb heading got changed, but we are back to how it should be! I appreciate so much your willingness to help! BTW I couldn’t figure how to send a screen shot while using my iPhone and headed to my laptop. Figured it out before I got there. 😊 Marcy
