Hi! This may sound like a stupid question but I am a bit confused as to what and how exactly airbnb shares the info on my arrival guide from my listing. It says for example in the checkin process that this will be shared with the guest 48 hrs before checkin. how does this information get shared.
The main reason for me needing clarity is that I don't want to then set up scheduled messages saying the exact same thing just a few hours later. I feel this would irritate me if I got double all the messages.
Also, my guests typically stay for 1/2 nights as a quick stop over - is there even time for a quick checkup message? Again, I don't want the guests to feel pestered.
fyi right now I dont have any scheduled messages and only send a thankyou for booking message.
still really new at this - only been open about 2 months now.
thanks!

Hello!
We had the same query, took us 15 Rounds of messaging ABNB CS, to learn:
48 hours prior to arrival….Guests are able to view checkin instructions we have completed on our listing, it is not messaged to them…it is simply available for view.
We have auto messaging set up for check in instructions, and many other things as well, 95% success rate, we always verify for the critical information, such as check in/check out instructions.
Keep in mind, in our experience 70% of the time guests do not read anything sent and ask instead…..
@Liza4059 Your guests will get the automated messages from the arrival guide AND any scheduled messages that you have set up.
You cannot rely on Airbnb message updates to guests. Airbnb tweaks its system so often that you never know what's happening
I've been hosting for 10 years, and I always always directly message the guest with check-in details. Nobody has ever complained about duplicate messaging.
In short, you should message your guests directly with check-in and -out information. It's essential because you cannot rely on Airbnb.
