Thanks Rebecca

No, I haven’t done any deals before or yet. I work part time, so will update my listing with a few more photos and perhaps some videos tomorrow.

Once I’ve done that, I will try the Insta promotion.

I’ve dropped my prices to be more competitive with other listings on pricing until the end of September.

Fingers crossed 🤞 I get some winter escape bookings very soon.

Cheers

Joy

That sounds great @Joy1717 - have you asked for a listing critique on the Community yet? If you head to  Ask about your listing - you can create a post in there asking other hosts to provide feedback on your listing. It's a great opportunity to get fresh perspectives and make improvements. You'll be so surprised what other people see!

Thank you for asking @Rebecca

The system looks pretty solid from the hosting side. I have been a guest for several years and hosting is new to us.

I like and appreciate ...

  1. The "coverage" or protection for the Host
  2. Calendar and availability indications are easy
  3. It is possible to communicate with Support staff; text, voice.   What a concept!!!! 😉  Appreciated.

Frustrations

  1. My wife and I are trying to co-manage one property. This seems to be a big challenge for the permission model. She is the "Host". I am the "Co-host".
  2.  So what's the problem? Communications go to her and not me. We both need the communications so we can jointly manage the property.
  3. Problem. The bank account setup was convoluted and difficult. Took several tries and multiple Support calls. Don't think the Support staff gave us the shortest route to resolution.

No doubt, these friction points are in place due to past abuses.

After 5 conversations with the AirBnB staff there appears no way to have us be "equal" in managing the property. Equal communications. Equal property mgt functions. Frustrating.

Enjoy the summer!

Hi there, opened the 1st BnB in May and it's doing phenomenal.  Hoping to get a better feeling about host services and how hosts are treated on the platform.  So many horror stories.  I want to have more confidence that Airbnb has my back.

Hi Rebecca,

Thank you for your time and the patience it must take to do this work.

I'm only 3 months into the hospitality service and loving it so far. I enjoy traveling and meeting new people. This platform offers both opportunities. I'm really excited for what is to come.

More than ever, Id like to know how to keep guests coming, in order to keep the apartment booked all the time.

Also any ideas on making the listing stand out would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you kindly

Donna

Hi Rebecca, thanks for reaching out.

I definitely felt excited initially and now more nervous than ever. I had a slow start during my first two months and things are getting a little better but still not quite where I would like to be. I really have to do a lot of digging to get the information I feel I need in order to be successful. Oftentimes it seems to be more of a trial and error or just learn by experimenting. Currently, I am working on more exposure and trying to get more views for my listing. Based on the ratings/insights, I seem to be very low and not quite sure why I am failing or what I am doing wrong to not be seen. I have tried price adjustments and promotions. I have also tried to use smart pricing but I am torn on when and for how long I can afford to based on the rates suggested. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Di107

I'm sorry to hear that you are dealing with some difficulties. Don't worry; there is always a solution for everything.  😊

You can ask other Hosts to critique and request feedback on your listing by following the instructions shared here : How to ask for listing critique on the Community Center.

I am sure, experienced Hosts in the Community would be able to share more advice and tips regarding your listing.

Related to your specific situation, feel free to start a new conversation with other Hosts for further advice! I am sure they'll be able to help.

I wish you a wonderful day. 🌻

Hi Rebecca,

I am really interested to be part of this community, thanks for inviting me.

We are not new to Airbnb - have started as guests many years ago.

and since 2022 we have been taking the role as hosts, as well.

There are still a lot of things I could learn and improve in the service we are providing.

thanks

Elina
