I just got an email, purportedly from Airbnb, asking me to update my payout account details.

I am wary of these requests, and my account has had no cahnges to it for several years.

How do I know that this is a legitimate Airbnb action?

It is always recommended to be worried about such requests.

- Here is a list of valid Airbnb email addresses

(allthough a hacker can manipulate the email looking it at first sight coming from such a valid emaill adress, so allways look into the details also)

Why is Airbnb asking for all kinds of personal information like place of birth etc?

I have also received this email and think that Airbnb is being hacked.  I went onto my airbnb account and there is no mention of payment being delayed. (automated@airbnb.com) was the email it was received from
