Hi Everyone! This is a message I sent to Airbnb. Please let me know what you think. Maybe if enough of us agree we can lobby Airbnb to make some changes to better vett potential guests.
"Hi Airbnb, I'm very concerned and frustrated that I can not see, know the age of, and basically have no information (other than reviews) of potential guests. We have spent a lot of time, money, and care to provide a wonderful place for people to stay. We live very close to a major university that unfortunately has a reputation for partying. This creates a lot of anxiety for us every time we get a booking request and have no idea who's booking. I'm all for D.E.I., but when it comes to who spends time in our house, I feel we have some sort of right to better vett that person or persons other than just a first name, identity verification status, or reviews from other hosts. If Airbnb has the right to make it a policy that no one under 18 can create an account or host, then we should have the right to at least know the age, or have a choice to set a minimum age limit, and have some more detailed information about potential guests. Please advise. Thank You. Ken & Claire"
