Hello everyone! 😊
Welcome to the Community Center! 👋 I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football⚽, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : 🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘 and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌
@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.
@Alex : I'm originally from Spain 🇪🇸, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto🇨🇦 this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey ✈️. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports ⚽️ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. 🥘
@Emilie : I was born in France 🇫🇷, raised in French Polynesia 🌺 and Morocco 🇲🇦, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. 🍲
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards🌻,
Elisa

Hi @Mamadou-Mody0!
Hi! My name is Cecilia. I am originally from Argentina but have lived in the US my entire adult life. I join the STR community in May and I am still learning to navigate this industry. Most of my guests come from Airbandb and so far I am pleased with this platform.
Hi @Cecilia1488 , thanks for sharing a bit about your background . Argentina to the US is quite a journey 😍
Hi everyone 😃 I am Karan from India- currently hosting in the beautiful state of Goa! I love going to the beach and I am the proud daddy to 2 very naughty doggies!
Been an Airbnb host since 2019, and I love to participate within our local community of hosts!
Welcome to the Community Center @Karan173 ! I visited Goa last year with my family, what a great place with amazing beaches 😍
Is your listing located somewhere near a beach? Or is it more on the city side?
Oh that’s so lovely to hear! Which month of the year were you here? Some people prefer season time (Nov-Mar/Apr) and some prefer the monsoon off season vibe.
My listing is in Vagator, in the north part of Goa. The village of Vagator falls in the coastal belt, and our listing is just a short 5 min walk to the small Vagator Beach!
We would love to host you on your next trip to Goa!
@Karan173 , unfortunately we were visiting India and our families during the peak summer season (month of may) 🙈 I wish we could have visited during the monsoon season, but since it had been a long time since we saw them, we couldn’t resist and just had to hop on a plane!
Ah! We did visit the Vagator beach and Chapora fort. It was a quite a walk up hill to reach the top of the fort 🤣
Thank you so much for the warm welcome and invitation @Karan173 🌻
Chapora fort indeed is a long way uphill.. the views are amazing from up there!
Pro tip : check out the full moon from the fort on your next trip. Absolute blissful experience!
That's a great tip @Karan173 ! I'll keep that in mind when we visit Goa next time 😍
I'll see you around in the Community Center and learn from your experiences, it was so nice to chat with you!
Regards,

Hello @Fadi124 👋
It's great to have you here on the Community Center. We've had some threads in the past from hosts in Jakarta! If you head to the top of the page you'll see the 🔍 search bar - if you type a question in there, you'll get lots of results. (Some threads are a little old but often by tagging the hosts, they come back to answer questions or engage in conversations).
Are you thinking about becoming a host, or are you more of a traveller?
