Hello everyone! ๐
Welcome to the Community Center! ๐ I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling๐ฒ, playing footballโฝ, and travelling๐ . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : ๐ I was born in Gujarat, India ๐ฎ๐ณ , and shifted to Toronto, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ last year! ๐ท I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. ๐ When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia ๐จ๐ด and currently living in British Columbia, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance ๐) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries ๐ and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking ๐ฒ and hiking ๐.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist ๐ฟ and like to minimise my impact on the planet ๐ as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming ๐ yoga on the beach ๐งโ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! ๐
@Elisa : I was born in Italy ๐ฎ๐น and as a lover of unique experiencesโfrom exploring the streets of Rome๐ฎ๐น , Paris ๐ซ๐ท, and Toronto ๐จ๐ฆ to appreciating timeless art and cuisineโI'm here to blend the old with the new.
@Alex : I'm originally from Spain ๐ช๐ธ, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto๐จ๐ฆ this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey โ๏ธ. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports โฝ๏ธ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. ๐ฅ
@Emilie : I was born in France ๐ซ๐ท, raised in French Polynesia ๐บ and Morocco ๐ฒ๐ฆ, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. ๐ฒ
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards๐ป,
Elisa

Hi,
My name is Liga, and my Airbnb rental - an apartment, is located in Liepaja, Latvia - right next to the Baltic sea.
I have started hosting on July, 2025. And earned Superhost status in October.
From all the rental platforms I tried, Airbnb is my most favorite.
I'm a nature lover, who enjoys the simple joys of life โ like peaceful mornings and beautiful sunrises. And my rental space is exactly what fulls me the most - beautiful lake views and sunrises above the lake. ๐
Today I found Community Center, and hope to find tips how to become more visible here.
Wishing you all a successful 2026 season, loads of perfect guests and full capacity! :)))))

Reported OTP failure for phone verification on a new host account.
On the very first call, I clearly stated this was a technical bug at Airbnbโs end.
Support dismissed it and blamed my telecom provider.
Telecom confirmed there was no issue. All other OTPs worked.
What should have been escalated on Day 1 took Airbnb 5 days.
2 Jan
Airbnb admitted in writing that there is a technical bug and escalated it to the technical team.
Senior case managers involved:
Zeenat, Shirly, Wienford.
Post-escalation, Shirly confirmed the technical issue was real and being worked on.
After waiting further, I spoke to another senior case manager, Wienford, who stated there is no issue at Airbnbโs end and placed the fault on me.
This directly contradicted Airbnbโs own written confirmation and prior senior communication.
When I informed Wienford that I was recording the call for accuracy, the discussion shifted from resolution to โconsent,โ and the call was shut down instead of addressing the contradiction.
Key failures:
โข No Day-1 technical escalation
โข 5 days wasted before acknowledgment
โข Senior case managers contradicting each other
โข No case history review
โข Focus on ticket closure, not resolution
This is no longer a technical glitch.
It is a process and accountability failure at a senior support level.
All statements are backed by emails, call recordings, and screenshots.
