Welcome to the Community Center! 👋  I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.

Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:

@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football⚽, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe. 

@Bhumika :  🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.

@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.

@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community.  I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘‍ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌 

@Emilie : I was born in France 🇫🇷, raised in French Polynesia 🌺 and Morocco 🇲🇦, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. 🍲

Hi, my name is Jodi, I am originally from Chicago. I moved to Pittsburgh in 2000. I am a professional K9 trainer-drug and bomb dogs, but have taken a break from that to care for my parents. Which is how my hosting journey began. When they are not staying in the home, I do Airbnb. 
it has been 1 year so far and it has been a great experience, not counting  a recent guest, but I won’t let that one bad apple upset my cart. I have made many changes since I first started, going from 2 bedrooms (4 guests) to 10 guest capacity and a pool table. I hope to gain and give experience and wisdom through this platform. Thank you for the opportunity.

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm Alex, hosting in Mexico City 🇲🇽 along with my wife Rebeca. We manage a penthouse in Roma, which is honestly one of the most fun neighborhoods in the city to wander around: art deco façades, independent coffee shops, taquerías, and bookstores, all within walking distance. 🌮☕

We started by renting individual rooms, switched to the full apartment model in October 2025, and recently hit Superhost and Guest Favorite, which felt like a real milestone for us.

I also just applied to the Co-Host Network because I'd love to grow into helping other owners around CDMX run great listings.

Really happy to be here and learn from all of you 🌻

Hi Elisa, 

I’m from California, but have residences in Nevada, Washington and Arizona. 
Travel is one of my passions,  54 countries visited and counting. 

I have 22 listings at the same location on 70 acres out in Coconino National Forest. 

We are planning to offer Experiences soon as we have a very unique property that also includes a commercial kitchen and a food truck. 

I’ve been developing, managing and operating this space for nearly 2 years without the previous people I initially hired. 

What an adventure 😂

 Estou tendo problemas, na hora de pagar é pernoite individual e estão conseguindo modificar a quantidade de pessoas, me estresso, tenho que sair buscando camas e colchões extras, grupos alugam um quarto e querem e um quer ficar no sofá sem pagar e assim vai. Também estou perdendo reservas porque o aplicativo não permite chocar dados porque pensa que vai alugar uma casa inteira, sendo que é claro no meu perfil que alugo quartos individuais.

 I'm having problems when it comes time to pay. It's for individual overnight stays, and they're managing to change the number of people, which stresses me out. I have to go looking for extra beds and mattresses; groups rent a room and want to stay on the sofa without paying, and so on. I'm also losing bookings because the app doesn't allow me to cross-reference data because it thinks I'm renting an entire house, even though it's clear from my profile that I rent individual rooms.

Hello everyone, my name is Marina, and I am the wife of Eric.
We have been living in the UAE for more than 25 years, and truly feel that the UAE is our home country.

Last year, we got this beautiful studio apartment and completely fell in love with Al Badia area. For us, it is one of the best areas in Dubai — peaceful, green, and comfortable. We actually lived in this area ourselves for many years in rented apartments, so it already felt very special to us.

We decided to start Airbnb not only for income, but also for the experience of hosting people and creating a warm place for guests. As we are still new hosts, sometimes it is not easy to arrange every detail and make everything perfect and comfortable. But when guests appreciate our effort and leave kind reviews, all the tiredness and difficulties disappear.

I gave our apartment the name Casa HEMY and created a small philosophy for it — “home away from home,” which many guests truly feel and notice during their stay.

About ourselves, we love a simple and quiet lifestyle. We enjoy basic sport and exercise, peaceful moments, and traveling as well.

Thank you for your message. In September it will be one year since we started hosting on Airbnb, so we are still learning and improving step by step.

Yes, “home away from home” is very much the feeling and philosophy behind our place. The listing title is Casa HEMY, and while we do not mention this phrase directly in the listing title, we share this idea in our guest brochure on arrival.

We wanted the space to feel calm, comfortable, and personal for every guest ✨
