Planning a Bali Trip – Airbnb vs Bali Tour Packages?

Planning a Bali Trip – Airbnb vs Bali Tour Packages?

Hey everyone!

I’m planning a trip to Bali and was initially thinking of booking Airbnbs for a more local, flexible experience. But now I’m also considering Wanderon Bali tour packages to make things easier.

Airbnb Pros (from what I’ve seen):

  • More privacy & unique stays (villas, jungle views, etc.)
  • Flexible itinerary
  • Feels more local & personal

Bali Tour Package Pros:

  • No stress of planning transport & activities
  • Pre-arranged sightseeing
  • Saves time, especially for first-time visitors

My Dilemma:

Should I go fully DIY with Airbnbs or choose a Bali tour package for convenience?

If you’ve been to Bali—did you stay in Airbnbs or go with a package?
Which worked better for you?

Hi @Rohan153

I stayed in several Airbnbs in Bali specifically around the Legian Beach area and also booked a  local  Airbnb experience during my trip. Getting around was very convenient and never an issue. Once you arrive, I highly recommend downloading the Grab app, which works similarly to Uber and is widely used across Bali for affordable and reliable transportation.

Many Airbnb villa hosts in Bali also offer airport pickup and drop-off services, which can make your arrival and departure much smoother especially if it’s your first time visiting. Between ride-hailing apps and host-arranged transfers, getting around Bali is easy, safe, and hassle-free.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and some tips @Patricia2526, it sounds like a very fun trip! 😊

You honestly don’t have to choose—you can do both 😊

When I went to Bali, I did a mix of Airbnb villas and worked with a local tour operator for certain experiences. It gave me the privacy and unique villa feel, but also took the stress out of planning when I wanted it.

For example, they even brought a full restaurant-style dinner setup to the villa for my birthday, which made the experience feel really special.

Bali is one of the best places to do this hybrid style—you get flexibility and convenience.
