Short-Term vs. Long-Term Rentals

I am a property manager based in Peru, and I am looking for research to support that STR is a better investment opportunity than LTR to use it as a selling point to future costumers. 

I know there are a lot of great personal experiences, but I am looking for research studies that support the statement that STR is economically better than LTR.

If you know anything about it, it would be great if you can share it!
