Wildfire and refund
Im new to Airbnb. Wildfire broke out in the area (no immediate threat to us but close)right before guest arrival and they did not want to stay. Can I refund them?

@Cecilia884 yes. Tell the guest to cancel, and when you get the cancellation notice you will be given the option to refund. Do not cancel yourself as you will be penalized. Do not send a refund manually through the resolution center as you might end up double-refunding.

I'm a guest that had the same situation (two 30k acre wildfires within 10 miles and air quality at unhealthy) Host said "air is perfectly clear" and wouldn't consider a full refund or even alternate refund and kept 70% of fees. Any suggestions?

Suggestions in terms of what ? Airbnb don't have a cancellation policy that offers a 30% refund.
if government advice against travel you would have been able to use Airbnb's Extenuating Circumstances cancellation policy - was it?
