25% for hosts

I’m an Airbnb host and I’ve still not received 25% of my cancellation fees. Has anybody else? I’ve contacted the support 3 times but it’s wishy washy replies. The last guy told me I’d just have to wait. Great customer service! It was supposed to start in April, it’s now the end of June. Was this just a lie? I don’t trust them at all.

@Scott181 if you look in reservations and the cancelled tab you will see if any of your bookings are eligible and if not why not.

I would have thought all payments would have been made by now.

By the way its likely to be nearer 12.5% as its 50% of what you would have got normally.

I had a lot of cancellations in the time frame they stated so I’m not sure how they’ll wriggle out of it. Where do I find a cancellations tab??

@Scott181 from your dashboard go to reservations (its along the top) and then click on cancelled.

If you didn't have a strict cancellation policy I am afraid its highly unlikely any cancellations will qualify

My cancellation policy is only moderate so that will probably explain it. Funny how they never made that clear when they said they’d ‘support’ hosts. It doesn’t surprise me they’d create as many ways to get out of it as possible. Appreciate your help anyway, shame customer services couldn’t do that!!

@Scott181 Well, the wording on their statement said they were going to pay 25% of what you would have received according to your cancellation policy. A lot of hosts failed to read that, and unfortunately got their hopes up for nothing. So with a moderate policy, unless the guests cancelled within 5 days of check-in, we wouldn't have gotten anything anyway, therefore we get no 25%.
