Accessibility of Calendar to Blind Screen Reader Using Hosts

Accessibility of Calendar to Blind Screen Reader Using Hosts

I am a blind screen reader user (JAWS) and an Air B&B host. The calendar is completely unusable for a keyboard only, screen reader using host.

  1. When I open the calendar, it takes me to 2022. It is virtually impossible to actually land on, oh – I don’t know – the current month/day? Without overwhelming hassle, and even then, when I manage to accomplish it, it is by accident.
  2. Changing prices/blocking/making available on block of dates is impossible. This can only be accomplished on a day by day basis on my iPhone. This is beyond tedious, error prone, and completely unacceptable.

There’s more, but we’ll start here.

Questions:

  1. Is there some sort of accessibility guide with specific instructions on how to navigate the host calendar while using assistive technology (JAWS screen reading software)?
  2. With whom do I discuss these lack of accessibility (i.e. ADA compliance) issues before I file a complaint with the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice?

Thank you for your assistance.
