Hello,
I'm a host in Atlanta.
In March, our local government wanted to ban Airbnb-type rentals. The law has passed but I haven't heard much from Airbnb about how the host needs to manage this situation and what the rules are for us to obtaining a license.
This law is supposed to go into effect on September 1 from what I wrote down in March.
Are there any hosts in Atlanta that have information on this directly from Airbnb? I see news stories about the law but I want to hear from other hosts how you're handling the situation. I reached out to the representative from Airbnb and I'm awaiting a response.
Thanks.
Good idea! I'll do that today. Airbnb has left me in the dark regarding this important regulation. I'm trying to avoid a $500 fine if possible lol
I'm curious because we have a reservation for that weekend and haven't heard anything from the host. 😞
Good news - it doesn't go into effect until March 2022: https://www.ajc.com/news/atlanta-news/atlanta-delays-new-rules-for-airbnb-other-short-term-rentals/H...
@Monaco1 The area of the site where Airbnb offers (limited) guidance on local regulations is the "Responsible Hosting" section. They haven't yet updated Atlanta, but you can bookmark this page for later: https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/853/atlanta-ga
Atlanta’s new STR restrictions begin March 1st, with a hard deadline of March 31st. **
