Chicago Commissioner's Adjustment

I am appealing Chicago's decision not to renew my short term rental license because my unit is no longer my primary residence.  I am waiting on my date to appear for my appeal....this is dragging on for months because BACP says they are backed up with a large volume of appeals.  Meanwhile....my rental property sits idle near Wrigley Field with no rental income for almost 4 months.  If my appeal is ultimately successful and I get a Commissioner's Adjustment, does anyone know if that adjustment is good for multiple years.....or is it an annual process?

What a tricky situation -have you heard more regarding when your appeal will be examined since your post here?

I asked BACP via email.  They responded and basically said it's been sent to Legal for review (not sure what they are reviewing....I just asked for an appeal opportunity on something they already reviewed and turned down), and I will hear from them when it's scheduled.

Hi @Donald446 - I'm applying for my first license for a unit in my 2 flat (I live in the other one). Adjustment was rejected so I too am waiting for an appeal date. I can't answer your question but as licenses need to be renewed annually, I'd assume they could refuse every year???

We too are losing income, so I have rented it on the "mid-term" market. If a rental is more than 30 days, its not classed as vacation rental and so no license in needed, as per City of Chicago Code.
