Hi,
Can anyone help me please?
Do I need holiday let insurance (building & contents cover) as well as the air bnb guarantee and host protection?
Also, do I need public liability insurance as well as host protection insurance?
TIA,
Ria.
Hi I’m having the same problem trying to find a company to insure my private room in my house as landlord. My current insurer CGU will only insure me for 84
days or 12 weeks or I am in breech of
my Home and Contents. Even though I
am prepared to add on landlord Insurance they won’t do it. You
would think as I live in the house the guests are less liable to do damage. Go figure.?? If anyone knows of a reputable company I am interested in Australia Queensland
Hi @Rachel2254 . I am having the same problem right now. Did you find any insurance company that would cover you if you have an Airbnb guest?
@Lynette167 , @Mike-And-Jane0, @Pam49 Any further ideas about home insurance in the UK. we are really struggling, we live in the house but then move out to rent it out for the summer. As you mentioned, not getting any support from airbnb either re insurers we can try or getting a copy of their policies so we know where we stand. Our current policy des not support us doing airbnb and we cannot find anyone who will. What to do? do we cancel all the bookings?
@Alison1276 try JL Morris insurance brokers. Not cheap but they have policies for short term rentals not available elsewhere.
Anyone in australia have a suitable insurer for when renting out a spare room on air bnb?
Hi Lisa, did you get any information regarding extra insurance in Australia? Dee
Hello @Linda1477 ,
I have a one bed flat that is my main home that I want to let out for a week while I'm holiday. I've just been told by the company that manages the building that buildings insurance won't cover an Air BnB let.
Do I have any other options? Is there any other cover that is available to me, for a short term let. This would be my first time of hosting and I don't know too much about the intricacies of getting this insured. I'm also a bit worried about the mixed reviews that the AirBnB guarantee seems to be getting.
Thanks,
AJ
