@Anonymous Indeed Aircover for damage is pretty worthless. Reading the details and paraphrasing 'it pays out on the whim of Airbnb and, if it does pay it pays a depreciated amount so you will need receipts for everything in your listing. Aircover for liability is a proper insurance product in some countries so may have a value as at least you can go to an industry body if they refuse to pay.

Agreed. And thank you for your insights. I must look into AirCover for liability…

 

The dishonesty of Airbnb assuring Hosts re cover for damages when it’s paltry to non existent. 


I will have a chat with the Consumer Protection Body, the CPCC here in Dublin. 

They examine monopolies/cartel activity and raise/misleading advertising. 



if enough people complain, it tends to investigate practices.
