House Insurance

Need to find House Insurance asap we live in Ontario.  Any suggestions ?  Our insurance now will not allow Airbnb and from what i have read Airbnb house insurance protections suck.

You need an excellent broker.   We gave our broker a heads up in Feb 2021.  Intact  declined after saying in 2020 no problem, just call.  Our broker worked  miracles and got us covered with another carrier.

Expect extreme frustration if you do not have a long term broker relationship.

Hi I’m looking for insurance coverage for my home in Ontario. I was with Meloche Monex and they are no longer wanting to ensure me because I use the Airbnb app. I only take long-term rentals. I’m a super host. Now I’m with a new company that charging me $200 a month for house insurance. That’s a double. Do you have a recommendation on a better insurance company that can cover me in Ontario?

Yes you can't of course have standard home insurance if you are running a business from your accommodation. And yes business insurance is always more expensive than domestic insurance for home.

Have you talked to a broker /Googled home insurance for short terms rentals and then rung around for some quotes @Andrea532
