Hi all, can someone help me? I want to set up my payout but I don't see Aruba as option. Allot of people rent their house on Aruba so there must be an option.
Did it work? What did you do to solve it? I have the same issue for Bonaire.... it only gives me european countries in the dropdown.....
@Marleen65 According to Wikipedia Bonaire is a special municipality within The Netherlands.
True but that doesn't solve the issue.
In all other dropdowns I can choose Bonaire, Eustatius & Saba as a country - ie for residence / nationality etc. So why does the bank dropdown not show it there? I only see European countries or the USA, neither of those are the one I need.
So where is the tick box to enter Bonaire ?
I cannot add my Dutch bank account to receive the money, I have a Bonairian bank account for all rental related stuff, there is no point receiving it on my Dutch account
@Marleen65 I am guessing but banking licences, particularly in the EU, are complex and do not allow for any discretion. I would think that a Bonairian bank is regulated by The Netherlands. If you select The Netherlands does it accept your Bonairian bank details?
Google tells me
The Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) and De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB – the Dutch Central Bank) are jointly supervising financial institutions in the Caribbean Netherlands; the islands Bonaire, Statia, and Saba.
Hi @Mike-And-Jane0 I just want the world wide dropdown box 🙂
The Netherlands and BES are not linked in that way, BES banks cannot be entered under the Netherlands dropdown - for example we use $ in BES and EUR in The Netherlands. we dont have IBAN in BES, which is mandatory in The Netherlands.
So for a moment it would be cool if you could imagine my listing to be in Mexico - how do I get the worldwide dropdown box?
My address is registered in BES (of for the example Mexico)... so where else is there a tick box where they think I want to add a listing in The Netherlands?
Fgos with the address and nationality I get the proper worldwide dropdown, so why not for the bank accounts ?
@Marleen65 ooh I have another idea. Where is your guest account on Airbnb based? Perhaps this needs to be in Bonaire to allow you to get paid in $ to a local bank. If this doesn't work then you can change the currency in your account by clicking on a box somewhere (I'll go looking for it)
@Mike-And-Jane0 yes I think I did it right but please tell me if there are more places to adjust my presence to Bonaire, I specifically started my account from scratch ...
I went to my picture / account / personal info and added my address on Bonaire.....
Currency : USD under global preferences
I did not add a phone (yet) to not confuse the matter...
let me know 😄
@Marleen65 All of what you have done seems right. Did you enter a Dutch passport/driving licence to prove identity? Other than that I am all out of ideas I am afraid. You could see if there is a local Facebook group to ask or be a bit naughty and inquire about a booking to another local host in Bonaire. They may get pissed with you or they may help!
Hi again @Mike-And-Jane0 yeah I can ask friends on Bonaire, but all I can think of is Airbnb pinging my IP address as Dutch... which would be annoying...
But I cannot imagine I'm the only one with such issue....
Surely there are more people renting out their non-european place whilst being in europe... hence I don't understand what happens....
very strange because the assistant at airbnb also didn't have an immediate answer (she is still working on it hopefully 😉 ).
@Mike-And-Jane0 I found the solution; create a new account with a VPN connection ...showing your IP in USA.
@Marleen65 Good plan but I am not sure that is the best solution. Airbnb may now decide you come under Uncle Sam's tax regime which I am sure would be a very bad thing!
@Mike-And-Jane0true.
but it goes to show they do look at you're IP, which is highly annoying because it means you have to be physically in the location of your listing to setup the listing...
hmm worth further consideration wtr the solution, but at least we now know the bug...
Thanks for your help!

A different subject, but it has some relevance:
Thank you for reaching out regarding VAT on your account.
Please be advised that VAT is charged based on a system known as Country of Residence (COR). Our system takes several pieces of information from within your account (your verified ID, payout currency, phone number, etc.) and determines the country you most likely reside in.
This is why you have been charged VAT for Netherlands. As our system has determined your COR is Netherlands while booking was done. Please know that this does not take into account listing location.
We appreciate your kind understanding and patience. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Rui
