IRS Instructions for incorrect 1099 Form

Basically the first step is to contact Airbnb and request a corrected 1099. 

Once that fails (because Airbnb is terrible and useless and refuses to acknowledge when they mess up important tax documents) you can call the IRS at  800-829-1040 for assistance. Make sure you tell the IRS that Airbnb is doing this to multiple hosts and should probably be investigated for tax fraud!

Hopefully this helps, since Airbnb absolutely won't, and they are the literal worst!

Did this work out for you last year on your taxes with the IRS? 

Airbnb is the worst. I agree. I have called and called and wrote messages trying to get my 1099k fixed. They’ve hung up on me even when I ask for a supervisor.

Essentially what happened is I have multiple homes on Airbnb with a bank acct set up attached to my EIN.  I added a home for my father back in November. His home has only generated three months of income and has it own bank acct and EIN separate from mine. They put all the houses income on his EIN  number instead of mine and only gave one 1099k. I have everything set up correctly so this shouldn’t happen. We’re talking a lot of money being misreported here. 

After  reading multiple articles and threads on this issue. I have a feeling that they’re not gonna do anything to help.
