IS it best to be an individual host or to set up a separate company

Hi. I am self employed and have recently decided to Airbnb my property in the UK. I'm not what is the most tax efficient efficient way to trade, ie as an individual or by setting up a company.

Does anyone have any experiences they can share?

Many thanks

@Andy3136 I don't think it makes much difference. We trade as an individual and can, as far as I know, claim expenses in the same way as a company would.

@Andy3136 Another thought. If you are a joint owner of a property and it qualifies as a Furnished Holiday Let you can apportion the revenues in any way you like between the owners thus minimising tax. I don't think this would work as a company but I don't know.

Hi, thank you so much for responding and this is very helpful information.

Kind regards

Andy
