Nightly rate difference

Nightly rate difference

Just listed for the first time.  My base rate is $88/ night but on the listing it shows up as $70.  Anyone have an explanation?

I've heard mentioned that, for new listings, the first three stays are discounted by 20%, which matches the figures you have given.

I believe that there is a box or something that you can check to opt out of this discount, but many think it's not a bad idea just to get those first few reviews under your belt.

makes sense.  I remember that box now.  Thank you very much

You can see it yourself when looking at your listing as a guest.

The booking form shows a 20% "special offer"

and also says:

"This host is offering a one-time deal to the first 3 guests who book a trip between now and Sep 15."

it can be removed in the listing calender, section "promotions".
