Service fee confusion

Hi everyone

Can someone please shed some light as to why airbnb are charging £42 on top of our nightly fee when a customer tries to book.

I was under the impression airbnb took 3% fees from the total fee paid by the customer.

I read the service fee help topic but i cant figure out what the different fees actually mean.

The host has  to pay Host service fee = 3% + VAT

The guest has to pay Guest service fee, which is variable, but mostly between 11 and 17%

(lower percentages are for long term stays)
