The Programmers Strike Again

This morning I logged into my Host account and then went to the menu to move to the Community Pages.  Much to my surprise, the link to the Community was no longer listed as Community, but as Connect with Hosts Near You.  Seriously?  Way to go AirBnB -- make it harder for hosts and guests to know where to go for more information.

That is 100% an error and I've gotten in touch with engineering to get it sorted asap. The last thing we want is the Community Center to be even harder to find. Thanks for raising it.

Will update here when I get news.

Lol, I saw that too and thought I was going crazy for a minute! Then I figured it out and just thought, oh well, they’re at it again! 😂

Thanks @Stephanie

Count me as one of those hosts who thought "ugh oh! I've been banned!"  🙂

I finally got to the community center by typing the direct link from memory and glad to see I'm still "street legal." Thanks for the update. Appreciate it!

Yup took quite the hunt to find it. On purpose?

@Stephanie   It must be on purpose -- still not fixed on the desktop PC Menu screen.

Still not fixed on my desktop, either. I hope I don't wake up one day and find "Host Circle" missing permanently!

Update to all @Christine615 @Lorna170 @Hal3292 @Basha0 @Suzanne302 - trying to find out who changed it so we can get it sorted. Thanks for reporting it!

What you have reported just hit my site this morning.  Looks like they are trying to hide the Host community forum by making its location obscure.  This will quickly lead to a reduction of participation by both old and especially new Hosts who mostly use it to solve user problems as a newby.  Older Hosts use it to discuss policy issues and programming issues and again solve problems.  What is the benefit to Airbnb in making this change?

Susan

@Susan990 @Stephanie Still not fixed on my site. When I was a new host, it took me a long time to figure out that so much valuable help was available here. Now I'm increasingly concerned that Airbnb might dissolve our discussions for any number of reasons, including the well-founded criticisms that many hosts have of Airbnb's treatment of its hosts.

@Emilie  and @Stephanie   Thank you for being "on the case", but as a former web programmer, it takes about 5 minutes to find the errant code text, change the text, and upload the change to the server.

Please pursue this with diligence!  Hosts and guests would appreciate it.

@Lorna170Thanks for your note. I still have to click many times in many different places to get here. If I didn't know the discussion rooms and host circle existed, I would literally NEVER find them. I hope your prompt will inspire some action.
