AIRBNB HASNT RELEASED MY PAYMENT

SO I HAD A GUEST MAKE A RESERVATION AND ABOUT A WEEK BEFORE THERE RESERVATION ACTUALLY WAS, THEY SHOWED UP AT MY HOUSE UNANNOUNCED, BASICALLY PUSHED THERE WAY INTO MY HOME, DEMANDED TO SEE THE ROOMS, AND THEN LEFT... I WAS SO TAKEN ABACK BY THIS DISRESPECT AND BLATANT LACK OF COMMON SENSE THAT I IMMEDIATLY MESSAGED THE GUEST AND LET THEM KNOW THAT THEIR BEHAVIOR WAS INNAPPROPRIATE AND NOT APPRECIATED, I NEVER RECIEVED A MESSAGE FROM THIS GUEST BEFORE OR AFTER THIS INCIDENT.  HOWEVER: ABOUT 6 HOURS LATER HE DECIDED TO CALL AIRBNB CUSTOMER SERVICE TO COMPLAIN THAT I WAS RUDE... I THINK ITS UNFAIR TO ASSUME THAT I AM READY AND AVAILABLE AND WANTING AN UNANNOUNCED GUEST IN MY HOME, I THINK ITS RIDICULOUS THAT THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR ISNT CLEARLY SET AND DEFINED IN AIRBNB RULES AND REGULATIONS... ITS NOT MY OBLIGATION TO ALLOW A STRANGE MAN INTO MY HOME, UNANNOUNCED, WHEN HE CLEARLY LOOKED AT 21 PICTURES AS TO WHAT THE ROOM LOOKED LIKE HENCE HIM BOOKING IT FOR A WEEK... I DONT THINK ITS VERY GOOD PRACTICE FOR AIR BNB TO GIVE GUESTS THE EXACT ADDRESS DAYS OR WEEKS BEFORE THE ACTUAL RESERVATION DATES... THERE IS ALOT OF CRAZY PEOPLE IN THE WORLD, AND I DONT THINK IT IS OK.... I WAS MADE TO FEEL VERY UNCOMFORTABLE IN MY OWN HOME, AND LIKE ITS STATED IN MY LISTING, THIS IS MY HOME AND I LIVE IN IT, THIS GUEST HAD ZERO KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT IS GOING ON IN MY LIFE, WHATS HAPPENED IN MY LIFE, AND IM FURIOUS ABOUT IT... SOOOOOOO TO TOP IT ALL OFF, AIR BNB CALLED ME TO ASK ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED AND I OF COURSE BROKE IT DOWN TO THEM THE SITUATION, READ THE MESSAGE I SENT TO THE GUEST IMMEDIATALY UPON HIS DEPARTURE... EVEN AFTER ALLLLL OF THIS I ALLOWED THE GUEST TO MAINTAIN HIS RESERVATION WITH ME, AND HE ALSO DID NOT CANCEL IT, HOWEVER WHEN IT CAME DOWN TO THE DATE, HE NEVER SHOWED UP.. THATS FINE WITH ME, HOWEVER AIR BNB HAS NOT RELEASED THE MONEY OWED TO ME FOR A WEEK LONG RESERVATION... I EVEN ONCE AGAIN MESSAGED THE GUEST AND REQUESTED THE PAYMENT FROM HIM, IN WHICH HE SAID HE DID IN FACT ALREADY PAY AIRBNB... WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THIS...

@Autumn11  Please stop posting with all capitals as this is experienced by those reading this as shouting.  Thanks.  You are right to expect the guest to respect your boundaries.  I would have cancelled the reservation by going to Air BNB and reporting the rude behavior.  You dodged a bullet by the guest not showing up but I cannot imagine why you allowed the reservation to stand.  

 

The guest paid for the reservation at the time of the booking and since he did not cancel and you did not cancel your payment should have been released 24 hours after the scheduled check in date.  I assume that has already passed and you are looking for payment.  It is possible he is seeking a refund and that has held up the payment.  Contact Air BNB for the payment status.  In case you need it, here is a link to a guide for contacting Air BNB.

He did pay the company.  Guests need to pay up front.  The airbnb holds the money until 24 hours after check in.  The question is why the company hasn't paid you yet.  I would call and ask . The number is 855-424-7262.  I have had good luck getting a human on that line.

 

I agree it is unnerving to have someone show up unannounced. As a matter of principle and safety, when I am at home alone, I don't answer my door unless  I am  expecting someone or if I do not know the person at the door.

 

In the future, should this happen again, this would be a good reason to call the company and have them cancel the reservation.  I would not want someone in my home who has already made me uncomfortable.
