Accidentally reserved the wrong property, cancelled right away, $70 fee?

Hi, I just received a link for an AirBNB from a friend I'm travelling with, and I thought I reserved it but then realized I reserved a different one I had open in another tab.! I cancelled it right away and it says minus a $70 non-refundable service fee.  Is this right?  The reservation was weeks away.  I just want to book the right place and pay the service fee there, which is actually more. Can anyone suggest what to do or how to get in touch with someone at AirBNB?  $70 is an incredible amount of money for such a mistake, by anyone's standards.

Unfortunately, Airbnb does not refund service fees.  You can try calling them to plead your case, but most times it does not work.  You can easily Google for the number.

@Carl49   Use Airbnb Twitter explain the problem and they might refund you because you have booked another place.
