Account Hacked

Account Hacked

Woke up to an email which mentions my account email has been changed.Mostly some bot which has changed my email from ****@gmail.com to ****@gmall.com.

But now I am not able to access my verified account.I am concerned someone might use my account to harm me or others by posing as me.

Trying to reach Airbnb but no response neither on email nor on phone.Any suggestions how I can proceed?

Thanks!Yes have reached out to them but no response so far.Its kind of frustating how Airbnb has shut down its shop for customer response.

@Shubh33 @This exact thing happened to me, with the gmall.com and all. They also added a fake payout method. I have gone through the account security steps but I’m still concerned. Did you ever get a response from Airbnb?

My brother is a host in Oregon and he has two big homes he rents on AirBNB and VRBO.  Back in December he couldn’t login to his account.  AirBNB said there was an issue with his account, but they didn’t do any thing.  Because of Covid, my brother wasn’t watching his bank account as he normally does.  He then noticed that he received a large payout of $17,000 for 3 months of reservations.  Today he logged in and noticed his payout bank account had been deleted and a Paypal account was added.  AirBNB now owes him $40,000.  Someone or many people have accessed his account (hacked in) and stole his payout.  AirBNB knew about the issue and didn’t notify my brother.  My brother earns a lot from his rentals, so you would think AirBNB would have  the smarts to pick up the phone and let a host know that their account was compromised, their money was stolen and they are taking care of it.  No, they just let this continue for 6 months, kept him on hold for an hour before hanging up on him, and aren’t even responding to his messages.  This is a serious issue that they know about, but don’t want any one else to know it’s happening.

I’m going to call this week and demand the 2 step authentication for my account.  I hear it’s available, but you have to call and ask.
