Adding an Additional Host to Manage Your Listing - A Community Help Guide

Lovely folks,

Airbnb has always taken Host feedbck very positively and here's one such example which I'm sure a lot of you are going to be super-glad to know about.

Have you were felt that a little extra help by your husband could be great to manage your lisiting? Well, Airbnb now has an option to add someone trusted from your family or a friend to manage your listing along with you. Isn't that awesome?!

Together you can make hosting easier and more fun.

Let's quickly jump to the steps:

1) However over "Host" on the top right bar and click on "Manage Listing" option in the menu that drops down.
2) On the left most top, below the Airbnb logo, Click on the menu expander that looks like 4 horizontal lines.

3) You'll see the menu on the left as it appears in the screenshot above. Scroll to th bottom and click on "Additional Host" under the 'Management' segment.

4) Once you click on it, a screen like the one in the screenshot will be displayed.

5) Under the Invite section, enter the email address of your buddy whom you'd like to get onboard this roller-coaster ride.

6) Hit 'Invite' and you are done.

7) You partner will receive an invitation email and they can follow the steps there after to register with you as co-host.

Want to know what are the functionalities your co-host can access and use?

Your co-host can:

  • Accept, decline, cancel, or alter reservations
  • See and respond to guest messages
  • Edit pricing and availability
  • Edit the listing description (such as pricing, photos, etc.)
  • Interact with customer service on your behalf
  • Write reviews and respond to reviews

What can the co-host not do:

  • See your payouts and personal information
  • Remove you from the listing. [You can remove them whenever you want, if required]

Here are some tips on co-hosting:

  • Make sure your buddy is someone you can trust with your home as well as your guests (You do not want to land behind the locker do you 😉
  • Educate your buddy, explain them what it means to be a host, what are the challenges, give them a demo on navigating on the site and the app.
  • Here are some resources to start with: Community Help Guides
  • PRO-TIP: Treat your guest like your family.

I hope this marks the begining of a new exciting journey for you as well as your co-host.

Happy Hosting!

@Lizzie - Hello, hope you have been great! This new feature was too cool for me to not write about it.
Have used some graphics from the site hope that's fine 😉
You can add it to CC Help Guide if you think it's useful.

Also, I just noticed that one of my tip ($50 add-ons) is now on the CC home page as a banner. Elated!

You and your team are my favourite 😄

This is a great idea to be able to add an extra host.  However, I would prefer to be able to choose the permissions - I would not want to give the co-host permission to cancel a resevation because of the ramifications.

This is not working for me, neither is what Airbnb has on its site. I can't find the four-line dropdown menu and when I "hover on the left side" no menu pops up...
