Advice from experienced hosts needed

Im a new member at Airbnb and so far enjoyed doing bookings! I had a guest who booked in on my 20% discount time and he booked for ONE and Airbnb confirmed ONE person only. I wrote on my profile extra people pay extra. He however, assured me he was hete for “studies” and would be alone. At midnight the second night he arrived with a giggling partner. My husband went out , froendly met him in garden , reminded him “extra people pay extra”. He wanted to pay there and then but we said we may nor accept money, he has to arrange with agent next day. So he told me “he arranged for two extra nights AND he ll pay Airbnb for 3 nights for the partner extra.” He never did so, it seems because I hear no word from Airbnb nor any answer on my calls to him!!?? I even said it is ok, pay me then for that time if it is too late to arrange with agent ( I thought let me just get my money in a way and then I ll never do it again like these) What was the correct thing to do and how do I get my money out of this person who lied to me all the way? He wrote good comments, I also didnt mention his movements ...

You could have altered the reservation and changed the number of guests. He would have to agree and accept the new price.

Since he has alredy checked out, the only thing you can do is to ask for extra money as a compensation for the extra guests. He have to agree when he receive the request for the money.

It seems that he was your first guest via Airbnb and he wrote a good review. I think it is not a good idea to raise an issue if it involves only few money. Just my opinion.
