Air conditioning broke and guests had to find lodging

Here's my question, I have a family staying in my listing (a condo in North Carolina), and last night the air conditioning broke down.
They were gracious about it, but the mom & kids went to stay with local friends of theirs. The dad stayed (he was getting work done 🙂
I think I need to try to make it right, but should I just refund them for one night? Is that sufficient for the unconvince?
Has anyone else had this experience? Honestly it wasn't that hot in the condo but the mom and kids did feel like they should move for the night.
They are all resuming their stay tonight after it's repaired.

Hard to say how hot "wasn't that hot in the condo" is though, re-imbursing a night is sufficient, although I'd probably throw in another freeby like a voucher for something local - pizza parlor, breakfast, ice cream parlor to show your appreciation...
