Airbnb App error message when logging in: "you need to download the last version... "

Since yesterday I'm not able to use the Airbnb app in my cellphone or tablet. It show the same error: "you need to download the last version of the app...". I have tried uninstalled as installed it again in both devices and some other advice I found in forums but nothing seems to work, I still can't log in.

 

Does someone else experience the same problem? Is there some solution I didn't find already?

I should have specify that I use android and all others apps in my devices work perfectly.

In case anyoone is having the same problem, the only thing that worked was downloading a previous version of the app from this page: https://www.uptodown.com/android/buscar/airbnb. But it only worked in my tablet. 

Many thanks Clau! I was a bit nervous about downloading from an unknown site onto my new tablet, but I decided to take the chance - and it worked!

Worked for me too!  Thanks so much!  Got ZERO help from AirBnB, told me it was a technical problem and that I should attend the service centre for my device.  Woah, soooo helpful.

Having the same problem on my tablet and phone. It says I need to update my app at the store. When I go to the store there is no update option only open or uninstall. So when I uninstall and then install I still get the same update message. Can anyone help?

In my phone it worked OK after a few days. 

I have the same problem on my samsung tablet. I have the latest version of the app uninstall and re install but still receive the same message that i need to update the app? Hmmm. Not sue what yhe issue or answer is here........anyone? Thanks in advance.

Have the same issue. It asks me to either update the version or try the username/password on  a desktop version. And i have an Android.

 

The only reason I can think of is that the app is trying to a server which does not have my username/password while the desktop version accesses another server. But then I am an old user and both servers hsould have been synched by now.

 Hi thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction here.

I also had been experiencing issues with logging into the Airbnb app on my samsung tab S2.

So it turns  out that the version of the app that is available on google Play store is Ver 17.28

I checked what version was installed on my phone Samsung S7 had Airbnb ver 18.16.1

I have downloaded the APK file of that version from this site:

 https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/airbnb-inc/airbnb/airbnb-18-16-1-release/airbnb-18-16-1-android-apk-do...

Installing this software rectifies the issues we have been facing. 

 

I've contacted Google play store and reported the issue and they have noted it and will contact Airbnb support.

Apparently it is up to Airbnb to notify Google of their latest software for upload to the Play store. That either has not happened in this case or an error has been made.  Hopefully it will be rectified soon.
