Airbnb App not showing messages

Hi There,

So currently abroad and using the app to manage my contact with the host but for some reason now it's now showing any of the messages i've had with my host and when I go into the reservation and select "message host" the app doesn't do anything. This is also the same for if i want to "call the host"..the selection doesn't work. 

BUT when I go to my significant other's profile i'm able to see the message correspondence i've had? Any advice would be great...should I delete the app and reinstall it?
