I need to charge a guest for a stay during the period of May 30 To July 9. The calendar doesnot accept past dates and I need my money. I NEED HELP

I am a host and a traveler. A few minutes ago I tried to book a home and now I have to wait 24 hours whilethey verify my payment method? Why is that? It's an Amex Gold and I used it just 2 months ago in Seattlewhen booking a home.What gives?
