In my knowlege I know that guests fees should be 6-12%, but I had many case already now where Airbnb take more than 15% even for reservations more than 300€ and more than 6 days. This is not good what is happening. why is that? Last year the fees were lower.
Airbnb advertise the guest service fees as 6-12; depending on the payment currency there may also be a currency conversation fee of 3%. I would suggest that with specific cases where the guests queries the service fee they have been charged or you discover it is more than usual, that you tell the guest to contact Airbnb to clarify the difference as they will have access to both yours and the guest's account so will be in a better position to explain each individual case; also they may charge two different guest a bit more than the 12 % but it will be for entirely different reasons hence best to deal with them direct.

It's probably conversion fee and it's new for me. But still it's too much 15% from the guest and 3% from the host. I joined 4 years ago and for this kind of reservation it was very small fee. This now is too much. This Airbnb was a prefect alternative for booking.com which was taking 15%. Appearently next year we will need to search again for another alternative if this remains. The guests are complaining if they have to pay 400€ on reservation that I offer for 330€. It's ridiculous of course.
Wow that is a lot more than usual - that's 17.5%! Are you sure it does not have anything to do with their currency? Is their currency the euro as well?
I recently had an Australian guest book for 3 nights and it worked out approx. $400AUD for the room and she asked why it was so much but she had forgotten to take into account the currency conversation rate which was approx. $1.83AUD to £1 so it seemed high to her but I explained it this way, it made sense to her and she was ok about it. Just wonder if it could be a similar situation, otherwise I would probably check it with Airbnb, well the guest not you.
