Airbnb hotel requesting credit card

I am going on a trip next week and the place I am staying at is a hotel. I’ve read some reviews that the hotel requires the guest to leave a credit card on file but I booked the room through Airbnb. Are they allowed to do that?

@Brittney102   I've heard Hotels are allowed to take your credit card info for a security deposit, same as they would do if you have booked outside Airbnb.
