I have been hosting with airbnb for over a year and im a superhost. I have over 150 reviews. Recently my mom decided to move with me at end of may so i blocked the calendar dates starting that time. I still have days open in march and april. But it looks like airbnb decided to not send any reservation my way. This is a high season for florida and i would always get many reservations for my place. But since a removed my place staring in may i noticed the new reservations stoped coming. Did anyone had that same experience once they decided to delist? Thanks
You have probably been moved down in the search results as a consequence of blocking your calendar. airbnb algorithms seem to give preference to hosts with wide open calendars.
I list a couple of holiday homes, but hardly ever get any bookings and very little traffic when consulting the statistics. My primary reservations come from a different source and high season is booked more than a year in advance, hence my calendar is blocked except for low season and the occational gap week.
@Damian97 I tried to open my calendar just 3 months in advance instead of 6 and it affected my bookings a lot. It has something to do with the search algorithm. ( usually, I get bookings 1-3 months in advance )
@Branka-and-Silvia0 You say it affected your bookings a lot - did you get more or fewer?
I wanted to reduce the advance booking period from one year to 6 months, but went for 9 months, since so many people book early in the year for July and August (my busiest season). Curious about how reducing the advance booking period worked out.
when I reduced my booking window from 6 to 3 months , my bookings dropped. Then I reopen it to 6 months again and got bookings again as usual.
Someone posted recently the same observation.
Thanks, @Branka-and-Silvia0 . Someone also posted recently that reducing the booking window from one year to six months resulted in more bookings, so I wanted to check. But your answer just made me realize that since most of my bookings are more than three months out, keeping the calendar open longer (I've gone back to a year out) makes sense for me.
