Airbnb payment system

I just signed up a guest for a 2 1/2 rental moving in on August 1 and set up the payment system.  She made the first deposit of $4,000+ on June 15 but Airbnb does not credit it to my account until August 2 and say it my take 6 days to process. after that.  Why should I not get paid in advance and why are Airbnb getting the benefit on holding the deposit for 45+ days??

Hi Guy - Welcome to AirBnB. Your place looks beautiful, by the way.  If the payment system came as a surprise to you, I would strongly suggest that you read through all the Terms of Service and hosting orientation materials again very carefully. Guests pay when they book; payouts to hosts are authorized the day after check-in and take a couple days to go through, depending on banking holidays and how fast your bank is.  The $$ is basically held in escrow by AirBnB until it is clear that both the guest and the host have complied with the booking contract. I am sure that AirBnB doesn't mind the accrual of interest on the funds during the intervening period, as well, but then that's part of the business model.
