Airbnb sent txt but not message is it bogus?

I’ve had a txt to update my details but Airbnb know all the info including account details. It looks right when I click on the link but I’m suspicious as I didn’t get a message on the Airbnb platform, just a txt with a link asking for private details already known. Is this normal practice?

Hi @Robert1431,

That is a scam trying to get your personal info.  Airbnb does not just send you a text asking for info they already have.  They will always communicate through their own platform.  I get text, email and platform messages (afraid of missing a communique) but only communicate with Airbnb through the site.  Do not give these people anything.  If you are ever not sure about something dodgy, contact Airbnb themselves.

You should go into your settings and look under Security and see if anything unusual shows having logged in.  If they are asking for your info then they most likely cannot log in but just to double check.
