As a host I am becoming increasingly frustrated with Guests not reading the listing description before asking questions.
For example, Guests will ask about bringing pets even though it is clearly written and selected in my listing description as no pets allowed.
This is wasting my time having to reply back.
Who else is finding Guest enquiries increasingly annoying?
Yesbut dont forget we are in hospitality and tourism
Yes I guess we just have to ‘grin and bare it’!
Pretty much majority of my guests can’t be bothered to read my
listing description properly.
I feel your frustration.
And then they down rate you because of their ignorance.
They just look at the pictures and the reviews and then they make the booking.
So l have put in as much information as l could on the photos captions and that have
help a little.
And as @David-and-Fiona0 says it’s part of the hospitality business ...
Thank you for your comments! Yes I guess we just have to ‘grin and bare it’!
@David2738, may be it is time to ask to add one more category to review our guest “did the guest read your house rules”?
It is worldwide problem: people are not reading anything, including titles! Tired of their innocent eyes: “we didn’t know that...”
Yeah - guests aren't going to read a big book of rules. My solution was to have a one-page sheet of house rules on the counter when they arrive. I then placed information cards around the unit that gives instructions where they are needed, such as how to work the coffee maker, set the alarm clock, use the dishwasher, etc. We tend to get a lot of compliments on the info cards.
