Are there penalties for withdrawing pre approval?

Hi all,

I have a potential guest who enquired me if my place was still avaialble for a next day booking at about 19:30, I confirmed to the guest within 2 minutes that it was possible and asked him to let me know when he expects to check in so I can be sure to be at home due to the short notice.

Since then, 3 hours have passed and I get no replied despite kindly asking the guest to let me know if they will go ahead or not.

If the potential guest does not reply to me before midnight I would rather withdraw my pre aproval, will this negatively impact my profile?

There is no pentaly for withdrawing pre-approval. But you also said you confirmed the guest. If you mean you confirmed their reservation than your penalties are going to be for canceling a reservation not for withdrawing a preapproval (automatic review that you canceled the reservation, $50 charge, removal of super host status).

Nope. Just take away the pre approval. However, a pre approval does not prevent other guests from booking, so removing is only necessary if you don't want them to be able to book without you going through the acceptance step.

If a pre-approval is withdrawn, does anyone know if the guest is notified of the withdrawal. If so, what does is "say"?

Does withdrawing a pre-approval affects on my respond score?

I have just withdrew one pre-approval to the person that doesn't have ANY verification and after that, pre-approved status of the request becomes an "inquiry" again with pre-approval button available as well as decline button?

When I hit decline button, airbnb asked the reason like I'm canceling the booking.
