Are visitors covered against theft

Hi,

what is Airbnb's insurance or policy if guests' belongings are stolen. It appears someone broke in the appartment and took our computers/camera. Maybe because of host's negligence (unlocked) but hard to say. 

Who can we turn to in such cases?

I think you should turn to your travel insurance.

You can also try Airnbnb, of course, but if that was me, I would contact my travel iinsurance company 1st, and I would notify airbnb at the same time..

I agree with @Roberta2 's advice. This is something you should be claiming against your travel insurance on.

I believe you will need to make a police report for in order to process your claim.

File a police report and then file a claim with your Homeowners insurance.  Your policy will give you coverage on personal items when you are traveleing, usually up to 10% of the amount of contents listed on the declarations page of your policy.
