Awaiting guest verification

I just saw someone tried to book my airbnb, however it didn't confirm and has a status 'AWAITING VERIFICATION'.  With this staus my room is blocked from anyone booking it and I cannot contact the guest to informed them that until it is resolve he cannot book.  Unfortunately I lost a longer booking due to this event.

Hi @Dawn162 

I'm pretty certain airbnb gives them a 24 hour period of grace in which to complete the booking ( ie get their verfication in order). During this time, your calendar will be blocked as though the booking is going ahead. After 24 hours if they have not verified the booking will just time out and your dates will be freed up. IF they do complete verificaiton,  the booking will go ahead per normal.

I think the point here is the host should still be able to reject the request as if it’s a normal booking request if the host didn’t do instant booking.  The dates shouldn’t be held against the host’s will.
