Bartering for accommodation

Bartering for accommodation

I've recently been offered free passes to the Grand Prix in exchange for my listing for the weekend. It seems to be good value but I've decided not to go ahead with it for fear of not having any backing if things go awry. Has anybody done a barter/exchange like that? Did it work? How did you make it work? Did it blow up in your face? Any advice if it happens again?

Thanks

You can, but you cannot do it through airbnb without cheating the system.  And how would you know that it is not a scam ?  False tickets are not unusual.

@Rupert1 I wouldn't do it.  You know the old saying: "A bird in the hand is better than one in the bush"!   Besides, if you go ahead with this you lose all the protections offered by Airbnb including guaranteed payment, security deposit coverage etc.  People try to scam new, novice hosts all the time.  Be wary!

What if Airbnb offered this as a service to hosts- a barter arrangement with other hosts for a fee.. ?
