Our holiday home can accomodate ten guests. We have bookings for two people and another for four people on a later date. How do we know what beds to make up - doubles, twins etc? Is there a way to look it up, eg does the guest book what they need, or do we have to contact them after their booking is confirmed? Help please.
@Clem4, I would assume that you would make ALL the beds before your first stay.
Then, after each stay you would look at each bed see which beds were slept in. The beds that were slept in would get fresh linens.
This is the simplest system.
Otherwise, you can look forward to asking each and every guest what beds they will require for their stay, and possibly having unhappy guests if you don't get it completely right 100% of the time.
I always ask guests about sleeping arrangements. For a couple I would assume they would want the master en-suite, but you never know. I have had many couples wanting separate bedrooms.
Guests of the more "clever" kind book for two and bring 10 - always a risk with larger properties, so I suggest you communicate as much as possible with your guests prior to arrival.
@Clem4, I would ask which beds they need and menion that the other rooms are locked. To profit from them, extra people fees have to be paid. What I would absolutely not do, is making 10 beds for two. You will have to wash sheets for ten, even if there are only two guests.
