Booking requests no photos?

Wondering if anyone else is a little uncomfortable with the new Air bnb updates where you can only see the requesters photo after booking is confirmed? I preferred it when you can see a photo with their id, ?? It’s good to know more about them, especially as our rental is in our grounds of the main house.

I am also uncomfortable with this. We once had a guest trying to book with us and his profile picture was him in a harley jacket downing a bottle of jack daniels straight from the bottle! Needless to say this threw up some red flags. However not showing the profile pictures may have something to do with AirBNB's non discrimination policies.

The best thing you can do is only allow guests to book that have a governement issued ID, even then I'd prefer to attach a face to the name. I don't trust people as much that don't have their profile picture of themselves or publicly visible.

Exactly, and after all, they do get to see us before they book?

@Jacqui-And-Dallas0   there are a ton of threads complaining about this latest "screw-up" by Airbnb.....  😕

Most of us hosts have a problem with it, but, unfortunately, Airbnb does not listen to its hosts--they continue to take control away from us,  becoming more and more guest-centered.   I find harder and harder to properly vet potential guests.  Very frustrating.
