Brand new to ‘Air B n B’

I just had my second renters this past weekend and need some feedback. This renter booked with one person but ended up bringing 4 other people with her. There were boards broken of my fence and kitchen faucet unable to use due to cord being twisted which cause a hole and water to spray every where. Bedding had stains all over it and food crumbs all over the furniture, plus she was 30 minutes late to checking out. Is this a normal thing? Does anyone charge a security deposit or fee for checking out late?

If a guest turns up with more guests than have booked, you could have contacted Airbnb and asked them to cancel the booking

It is definitely not normal for guests to behaved in such an appalling way.

Do you have CCTV or similar so you can monitor guests coming into and out of your property. If so,  or if you saw the extra guests, I would be tempted to charge her for the extra guests, you can also make a claim for damage to your place under the Airbnb Guarantee (see Help Centre).

Please make sure you leave an honest review with 1 star for cleanliness and a thumbs down so these guests can't IB with future hosts.

It's important particularly as a new host to vet your guests carefully. I would recommend if you are using IB that you remove this so you can ask guests questions about themselves and their stay before accepting their booking.

@April184  Hi well, looks like you have a few things to learn about hosting.....there's loads of places to read up especially on airbnb website....... youtube.............FB and all over the web.

My big question for you - Why would a person book a place for 10 people that cost $200 a night for ONE PERSON-   they would NOT do it..............it is up to you to turn off IB so you can vet your guest and find out "What brings you here?" ask questions and find out and that way you can help avoid such awful guests like you just had. Sorry about that! Make sure and be honest with the review - they were not good guests. If you haven't written on your listing that you will charge for late check out you can not do it. Plus, the guests will have to approve any request for more monies --- good luck collecting that. Folks like these you had need to be stopped and make sure you give them 1 - 2 stars - thumbs down and

I would write -

The guest arrived with 4 extra unregistered guests......

there were multiple things damaged in the property that have to be replaced. Also, much extra deep cleaning had to be done after their late exit. This guest is NOT welcome back.

Let us know what you do with filing a claim or review.....don't let these folks get by with a good review BECAUSE we all will suffer and it tells them they can get away with such.

I would file a claim for the damages.

Good luck, Clara
